Ia menegaskan bahwa warga yang membuang bangkai babi telah merusak area wisata yang menjadi tempat favorit bagi warga Larantuka dan sekitarnya. Fasco juga mengajak masyarakat untuk lebih peduli terhadap kebersihan lingkungan. Ia meminta warga melaporkan kasus pembuangan bangkai hewan agar pihak berwenang bisa segera mengambil tindakan yang tepat. Selain itu, ia menekankan pentingnya menjaga kelestarian area wisata demi kenyamanan bersama.

“Tempat umum yang sering dijadikan tempat rekreasi oleh warga Larantuka dan sekitarnya kini telah dicemari oleh bau tak sedap dari bangkai binatang/babi,” tulis Fasco dalam unggahannya, Senin (10/3/2025).

Video tersebut langsung memicu berbagai tanggapan dari warganet. Banyak yang mengecam tindakan warga yang membuang bangkai babi di lokasi yang sering digunakan masyarakat untuk beraktivitas. Kepala Bidang Kesehatan Hewan Dinas Perkebunan dan Peternakan Flores Timur, Vianey Kiti Tokan, mengungkapkan keprihatinannya atas tindakan warga yang membuang bangkai babi sembarangan. Ia menegaskan bahwa perilaku tersebut berpotensi memperparah penyebaran virus ASF (African Swine Fever) atau demam babi Afrika.

“Mereka sudah tahu ini akan berdampak pada penyebaran penyakit dan polusi, tetapi mereka tidak peduli. Kami tidak bisa selesaikan ASF ini sendiri tanpa dukungan masyarakat,” kata Vianey.

Vianey menjelaskan, bangkai babi yang terinfeksi ASF berpotensi menjadi sumber penyebaran virus. Lalat atau nyamuk yang hinggap di bangkai tersebut dapat menjadi perantara penyebaran virus ASF ke wilayah lain.

“Babi akan dikerubuti lalat dan lalat akan jadi penyebar (ASF),” pungkasnya.
